Friday Night X

ON: Security, Surveillance + Justice

From the panopticon to train stations surveillance and security has an ever-increasing presence in public spaces. And when we believe that someone may have behaved illegally, how can design balance the conflicts between security, surveillance and individual rights?

This Friday Night X join our Expert + Architect as they chat about all aspects of security + surveillance, from courts to prisons and all the settings in between.

Richard Nixon is a former soldier and director of Security Consulting Group.

Paul Katsieris is the Principal of Katsieris Origami and former Principal at Hassell. He has expertise in court design and sits on the Design Review Panel administered by the Office of the Victorian Government Architect.

This a free public event for anyone interested in how architects contribute to our cities and communities.
