Waterfront: River (re) Wild

We take in the future design aspirations for the 18km of waterways within the city. Imagine a river that offers a more visible cultural narrative of the Birrarung, reintroduction of riparian vegetation, increased and connected public green space, and a more vibrant river edge.

Speakers:

Dean Stewart
Creator and Leader of Walkin’ Country Walkin Birrarung

Margie McKay
Team Leader, Urban Design for City of Melbourne
whose team is currently working on a new strategy for the city’s river edge

Waterfront is presented by Open House Melbourne as part of Melbourne Design Week—an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
