Architect: Fender Katsalidis
City of Melbourne | R02
Designed for World Class Land and Sinclair Brook by Fender Katsalidis – with interiors by Carr Design – Australia 108 is a highly sculptural residential tower, which will be unlike any other in Australia. Its slender form will be highlighted by a golden starburst expression which then morphs into a curvaceous profile against the sky. The Starburst, inspired by the Commonwealth Star on the Australian flag, is a celebration of the sense of community within the building. Located on Melbourne’s Southbank, Australia 108 will become the ‘tallest building to roof’ in the Southern Hemisphere, at 319 metres. The building will contain 1,100 apartments over 100 floors, and unprecedented resident facilities including dining and function spaces, theatrettes, gymnasiums, pools, spas and an extensive barbeque terrace. The ground-floor podium has been built around a heritage façade, which in 1899 housed a timber mill and warehouse. It will contain three retail tenancies and access to the tower’s residences through a gold-clad entryway. Join Sinclair Brook and Fender Katsalidis on this tour of the first completed stage of Melbourne’s landmark tower.
PLEASE NOTE: Amendment to Print – Australia 108 the basement of Australia 108 can only be accessed via stairs (it is not fully accessible as noted in the Print Program), the other parts of the tour including the carpark, foyer, level 11 and apartments will remain fully accessible.
