Medibank Place

Architect: Hassell

Docklands | D03

Medibank is in the business of promoting better health for everyone, as demonstrated through its purpose: ‘Better Health for Better Lives’. This includes the people who come to work every day at Medibank Place, its head office in Melbourne’s Docklands. Tour this award-winning building, designed in partnership with the architects at Hassell – who created a space that represented Medibank first, before looking at how to enable greater collaboration, engagement and productivity. The vibrant headquarters is an oasis – with its sweeping white curves and brightly coloured accents set amidst the drab greys of busy urban life. Activity-based working (ABW) enables flexibility and mobility by empowering people to choose work settings based on their specific needs. Medibank employees have real freedom to choose how and where they work. With laptops and mobile phones in hand, Medibank’s people can select from more than 26 types of work setting, ranging from indoor quiet spaces and collaborative hubs, to Wi-Fi-enabled balconies and places to stand and work.
