Umina, The Country Women’s Association of Victoria (CWA)
South | S07
Umina is the home of The Country Women’s Association of Victoria (CWA) and is an excellent example of Victorian-era architecture. It features high ceilings, beautiful timber surrounds and windows, a butler’s station, Arts and Crafts-era (1905) woodwork cupboards, and an Edna Walling garden which she worked on in 1928. The residence was built in 1876. Its original features include an asymmetrical façade, a tower and a steeply pitched slate roof. The building houses the State Offices of the Association and the Umina CWA Bed and Breakfast. The original Edna Walling garden features rooms, lily ponds, wisteria pergolas, stonework, and significant trees.
