THE NAKED ARCHITECT: A GUIDE TO COMMISSIONING AND WORKING WITH A RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECT

Are you looking to renovate
or build a new home and have considered using an architect but don’t know where to start?

Open House Melbourne, with support from the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV) and in association with ArchiTeam, are presenting a series of six workshops that will arm you with everything you need to know about commissioning and working with an architect.

Using the Open House model of direct experience of good design, The Naked Architect workshop series is being hosted in six examples of architect designed homes across Melbourne. Not only will you be armed with practical guidance, advice and ideas about engaging
an architect, you will be able to
meet clients and their architects to learn first hand about the process.

The Naked Architect workshop series will cover advice on:

• Selecting an architect
• The stages of design explained
• Planning, construction and project management explained
• Design fees and project budgeting advice
• Scheduling, associated services/ consultants and practicalities

Come along to the introductory session that will explain the short course in more detail, introduce the projects and architects profiled at each session and give you tips and advice on how to select the right architect for your project.

Participants are encouraged to attend all six interactive workshop sessions, which will be open for registration at this session and online thereafter. A small number of single session tickets will be available also.
