Building Description

A former commercial storage facility on Coppin Street has been transformed into a light-filled contemporary workspace, combining functionality and flexibility to support creative collaboration.

In need of a new home for their practice, Pitch chose to embark on adaptive reuse of the former warehouse and remnant of Richmond’s industrial past. Behind a large graffiti mural, the space has been transformed into a studio that encourages collaboration. Formal and informal meeting areas provide separate spaces for relaxation and creativity, while bare concrete surfaces have been replaced with design features such as a curving stairwell and a raised platform floor made of raw birch plywood.
